The practice

London architectural technology, done right.

Architectural Drawings is a Shoreditch-based chartered practice of architectural technologists. We handle planning applications, building regulations and the messy in-between — for London homeowners, landlords and developers who want their project taken seriously without architect-tier fees.

Who are we, and what do we actually do?

A chartered architectural technology practice drawing planning and building regulations sets across all 33 London boroughs. That matters because 97.0% of London planning decisions are made by a case officer under delegated powers rather than by a committee — so the drawings are the argument.

London planning, three years to March 2026Figure
Decisions made under delegated powers97.0%
Householder decisions made77,680
Householder applications approved83.0%
Applications withdrawn before decision7.4%
All applications decided163,144
Householder appeals decided after refusal15,646

Counts are decisions made in the window, not applications submitted.

Our story

Started in 2015, above a bakery in Shoreditch.

Sarah founded Architectural Drawings after a decade at big-brand London architecture practices. Her thesis was simple: most London homeowners don't need a full RIBA practice — they need someone who actually understands Part L, knows the Islington planning officers by first name, and charges accordingly.

Eleven years later we're a team of fifteen across Shoreditch and a satellite desk in Clapham. Still chartered, still technologist-led, still 30% below the architect rates we used to charge.
