Every street in these photographs sits in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Lincoln Street, Cheltenham Terrace, Royal Avenue and Margaretta Terrace are in SW3, inside the Royal Hospital Conservation Area and the Chelsea Park Carlyle Conservation Area; Chepstow Crescent is in W11, inside the Ladbroke Conservation Area. The three Chelsea terraces were photographed in 2024; the Margaretta Terrace and Chepstow Crescent frames come from the Geograph survey. Conservation-area designation is why those streets look as they do — and why work on them is decided against the borough's Local Plan rather than permitted development.
